Notice about compatibility for Canon EOS M50 with the 18-200 Di III (B011EM)

Dear users and potential purchasers of Tamron interchangeable lenses.

Thank you for using Tamron products and for your continuous support.

Please kindly note the following when using the Tamron 18-200 Di III (B011EM) lens on a recently announced Canon EOS M50. (Introduced to market on March 23th, 2018 in Japan.)

1. An error notice will appear when shooting with aperture stop down (close the f stop).
* You may operate while aperture is fully open only.

2. When you remove the lens while the power is on and attach the lens again, it will freeze.
* The camera will re-start if you press the power on/off or press the menu button making the menu screen display again and press the menu button once more to restore.

We sincerely apologize to all users and potential purchasers for any inconvenience this issue may cause. We are in the process of searching for the cause and will make another announcement once we find the solution.

We wish to notify you that we will perform updating of the firmware for our 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III VC (Model B011) for Canon.

■ Improvements expected as a result
When used in combination with the Canon EOS M5, behavior where power is turned off or is not turned on, making it impossible to use the camera when attaching the lens, has been improved.

This is an update regarding our announcement in March of compatibility issues between the 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 DiⅢ VC (Model B011) for Canon (EOS M3), which went on sale recently.

We are pleased to advise you that we will start a firmware update service for B011 for Canon (EOS M3). We apologize for any inconvenience

With this update the lens functions properly when used with the Canon EOS M3.

The update can be carried out at Tamron authorized service centers. For more information and handling procedures please contact us at 1-800-827-8880 (option 1) or by e-mail us at custserv@tamron.com.
