Tamron Announces Release Of Ultra High-Resolution 1/1.8" 2MP Fixed-Focal Lenses For FA/Machine Vision
(Model M118FM06 / M118FM12)
August 7, 2014, Commack, New York — Tamron Co., Ltd., a specialized manufacturer of optics and an industry leader in the security/surveillance products, announces development of two 1/1.8” 2MP ultra high resolution fixed-focal lenses for FA/ Machine Vision applications.
Tamron endeavored to satisfy those needs by virtue of expanding its line-up of mega-pixel lenses comprising of four high-resolution 1/1.8” 2MP fixed-focal-length models for FA/Machine Vision (M118FM08, M118FM16, M118FM25, M118FM50).
In the years since the launch of those products, diversification and sophistication of the vision systems has become increasingly prominent, calling for a broader range of product assortment to address such needs. Furthermore, it has also become evident that use of those lenses has also become diversified being combined with camera models equipped with multiple sensor formats that were not necessarily included in the targeted imager size format. This opened up a new vista for the product portfolio.
In light of this trend, Tamron has developed two new 1/1.8”, 2MP fixed-focal-length models: 6mm (M118FM06) and 12mm (M118FM12) ultra-high performance lenses for FA/Machine Vision applications. The high-end fixed focal series in this category will be expanded to six models from the current four to augment the scope and to enhance the versatility of applications to satisfy the growing needs of customers.
Looking ahead, Tamron is determined to continue developing new lenses, keeping pace with the evolution of image sensors toward higher pixel density and the diversification of applications in the FA/Machine Vision settings, with higher quality and greater versatility.
