Rick Sheremeta

Richard (Rick) Sheremeta is an award winning artist who has come to be acknowledged as a nationally recognized writer, and accomplished photographer. He received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Union College, in Schenectady, N.Y., and Master of Engineering Degree in Environmental Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After practicing engineering for some 36 years, Rick took down his shingle in 2006 and now devotes his full efforts to photography. He is joined in that effort by his wife and partner Dody.

Rick has authored numerous articles on outdoor and adventure travel, photographic equipment and techniques, and outdoor gear. He is a photography instructor at the Glacier Institute and conducts numerous photography workshops in the northern Rockies.

His photography and editorial work have been featured in Shutterbug, Women in the Outdoors, Viewfinder, and Distinctly Montana magazines. He has also been a frequent contributor to Outdoor Photographer Magazine, and Tamron U.S.A.’s Pro-Learning Center. Currently, Rick is a contract photographer for the Associated Press.

Rick is a former winner of the prestigious Best of Show Award in the Palm Beach Photographic Centre’s “In Focus Exhibit”, and has been featured in many other Photography Exhibitions. He has been named as a Semi-Finalist for 2008 Wildlife Photographer of the Year by the British Museum of Natural History.
