Tamron, known as the leading supplier of Vari-focal lenses, also manufactures a complete line of Zoom, Monofocal and High Resolution Lenses.
The High Resolution Lenses that Tamron developed come in a 2/3" format and are available in (6.5mm, 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm) focal lengths with manually controlled focus and iris functions. All are available with locking screws for the Focus and Iris controls, with the exception of the 6.5mm. This feature is very desirable when using these lenses in Machine Vision applications.
In general CCTV lenses do not work properly with 3-CCD chip color cameras because the image deteriorates severely based on the camera quality, which can vary significantly. However, with two of our High Resolution Lenses, the 50mm and the 75mm, this statement is not true. These lenses provide a narrow angle of view due to their powerful telephoto focal lengths. Both lenses are of extremely high performance, way above the average in this category, making them less vulnerable to image quality loss. These are the two primary reasons these lenses are ideal for 3-CCD camera use. Lenses designed for a single chip camera utilize a "rear insert glass" normally 5mm in thickness with a glass equivalent of BK-7. This corresponds to a layer of filters placed between the lens and the imager. Accordingly when a lens designed for a single chip color camera is used with a 3- CCD chip camera, the significant thickness of the rear insert glass results in deficient optical performance including poor resolution, poor contrast and poor color rendition. The noted high performance of our lenses achieves a high level of quality in 3-CCD chip camera applications, avoiding this inherent degradation process.
How is it possible for Tamron to provide these High Resolution Lenses?
We design and process optics
We design and process mechanical parts and components
We design our electronic circuitry
We design and produce ultra high-precision molds
We produce high-precision injection-mold components
We are experienced in video and digital imaging by virtue of working with the world's leading electronics manufacturers.
All of this comes together at our factory, which are certified under ISO 9000-series standards.
