This is the lens for use in medium telephoto macro shooting, optimal in situations where you are unable to get close enough to the subject, or for shooting cherry blossoms or other flora located at a distance, or even insects that are likely to be scared off if the photographer moves in too close. The lens is equipped with the FEC (Filter Effect Control) function, which enables the photographer to rotate the polarization filter without detaching the hood, thereby effectively minimizing diffused reflection of light and lens flare.
