Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD (Model B060)

Photography for me means the opportunity to capture precious memories forever and relive the moments over and over again. It allows me to take a unique trip back in time to my own past.

In March, 2023, I was lucky enough to get my hands on an exciting new product, TAMRON 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD (Model B060) for FUJIFILM X-mount. It is a compact and lightweight ultra wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras with a continuous aperture of F2.8. The lens had an impressive focal length range of 11-20mm (a full-frame equivalent of 16.5-30mm), making it extremely attractive for landscape photography at any time of day or night. It was designed specifically for FUJIFILM cameras and would accompany me on my upcoming trip, where I found myself in a place where I had all the elements in a very small space in front of my lens.

My destination was the stunning island of Tenerife. There I was able to discover and capture Europe's highest volcano, one of the clearest and darkest starry skies in the world, laurel forests, picturesque coastlines and impressive cacti. With the TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8 and a FUJIFILM X-T5, I was well equipped and the weather forecast suggested ideal conditions.

The first tests with this ultra wide-angle lens were simply impressive. Every photo I captured on the memory card was of crystal clear quality and exceptional sharpness. No matter what situation I was in, I could always rely on the lens and didn't have to accept any sacrifice in image quality.

The light weight of the TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8 allowed me to always keep the camera handy during my hikes on the island, without it weighing me down or causing me to miss a situation. I was also won over by the lens' sleek design, which made it easy to clean if it ever got dusty or wet.

The very close Minimum Object Distance combined with the impressive ultra wide-angle opened up countless possibilities for me in landscape photography. I was able to use it to create fascinating shots with shallow depth of field and a foggy foreground, which are always sought after in modern landscape photography.

The TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8 showed its strengths in landscape photography at night in a particularly impressive way. The continuous aperture of F2.8 allowed me to capture the beauty of the Milky Way without compromise. At a focal length of 20mm, fascinating details of the night sky became visible without my having to sacrifice speed.

The journey with the TAMRON 11-20mm F2.8 was an incredibly enriching experience for me. I was able to master every photographic situation without having to cut back and fully concentrate on my creative work. The light weight of the lens combined with TAMRON's usual elegant yet simple design make it an optical treat that no photo backpack should be without.
